Venice!

Hey guys,

This year it was my 16th birthday and my mum's 40th so we went on a weekend away with my cousin and aunt. My mum and I didn't know where we were going until we got to the airport but all of us had a lovely time while away in Venice and I have to apologise as I am not the best at taking photos!

I really hope to go back one day as I had such a lush time!

Urban Decay: Gwen Stefani Palette

Hey guys,

For my birthday I gt this beautiful palette and I thought it would be a waste if I didn't swatch the colours for you, this will be like a first impressions- I am not reviewing the palette! :)

I personally love the packaging, its really simplistic and pretty.

An overview of the beautiful array of colours.

Blonde is a beautiful shimmery white.
Baby is more of a dusty pink.
Pop was a really chalky rose gold.

Bathwater is a shimmery colour which is slightly gold.
Anaheim is a matte light brown.
Harajuku is a bright shimmery pink.

Skimp is a very pale shimmery shade.
Stark is also a matte light brown but much lighter.
Danger is a glittery navy blue.

Steady is a rosy shimmer.
Zone is a darker matte brown.
1987 is a really light glittery gold.

Punk is matte wine-ish colour.
Serious is a slightly shimmery dark grey.
Blackout is completely matte black.

Sorry the pictures are shitty and that the quality goes downhill and that my hand is in a weird position!

After Braces!

Hey guys,

So I had disgusting teeth which I wrote a few blog posts on:

But I just got my braces taken off and I honestly cried when it happened!

Here my teeth are now! I am so happy that I had them on and honestly they never really hurt me but they did ache a little bit! Also excuse the picture it was taken right after having them taken off and I would take another but I'm not even dressed- sorry!

Yeah I didn't really have anything to say just to give you an update of how my teeth are now!

Missing My Train: Storytime

Hey guys,

So story time videos are extremely popular on YouTube right now and on the 13th July I had quite a series of events happen to me.

My friend and I were going to the cinema to watch Now You See Me 2- great film go watch it. But when I arrived at her house she wasn't ready yet- to be honest she is usually late so I even got there 5 minutes early. Anyway, we missed the train that we were supposed to get so she looked up the next one on her phone.

We stood on platform one and waited for like 3 minutes until the train came along and got on it however after about one minute I realised that we were going the wrong way. Just to say I had booked tickets for the cinema and we were already missing our showing. We got off at the first stop and again looked for a train to get us to our destination. I had no data on my phone so couldn't help look and she had like 10% battery life so together we were pretty useless. We managed to get on a train though that was going to where we wanted to be.

However, a ticket man decided to check our tickets and obviously they were wrong as we had caught the wrong train. I tried to explain the situation to him but ended up getting flustered but he let us off because I managed to confuse the crap outta him. We finally arrived at the station we were meant to get to! Hurray! But we had managed to miss the cinema...

We decided to go shopping as I needed some shit and also there was a TK Maxx close by so we spent like half an hour in there. There was another showing of the movie at 5:15 so I picked up the tickets which I had booked and explained to the guy that I wanted to see the 5:15 showing not the 2:45 one and eventually we got seats for the showing.

We ended up grabbing a Nandos while in town and got home 4 hours later than originally expected but overall it was a pretty good day.

Stress: After Exams Ramble

Hey guys,

So I finished my exams a little while ago now and I can honestly say how happy I am that they are over. I know I still have so many more exams to go through but currently I feel relieved.

I found out that I am crap at handling stress and it had really negative effects on me. I couldn't sleep very well- to be fair I still cant but I am blaming part of the issue to exam stress. I constantly had the butterfly feeling in my stomach when I did anything which really didn't help me concentrate on my revision or anything meaning that surely I would get worse results beginning a spiral of worry and stress.

I took my maths exam a year early and got a grade below what I was expected because I was crying and a massive mess before I even went into the exam hall so couldn't really concentrate on doing the exam and I still dont know how I got the grade I did- pure luck, I guess!

Anyway, after the scene of last year I decided to take a step out of my comfort zone and ask for help in dealing with my stress this year as I clearly couldn't do it alone. For some weird reason I am always ashamed to say that I went to therapy. However, it is nothing to be ashamed of as everyone deals with things differently and I just needed a little bit of help to get me into the same position as everyone else and that is ok!

He helped me to cope with my own stress and also to gain confidence- I had hypnotherapy for anyone interested and it was a really weird experience and I am happy to go further into it in a different post.

Really, the reason I wanted to write this was to say that if you are struggling with stress about anything or if you are really worried about something and it is making you feel shitty then there is no shame in getting help to deal with it. I also think tat the exam system is crap for making me have to go to therapy just to get through it but whatever.

I am so glad that I went to therapy though because I was able to concentrate more in the exam hall and there were no tears this time before any exams!

Gift Ideas For Once Upon A Time Fans!

Hey guys,
My favourite blog posts to write are gift guides so I thought I could do a few for birthday ideas on specific things and one that I thought would be fun is TV, so I chose one of my favourite programmes and here it is:

A T-shirt

This shirt is from clotee it has the show going down and from it the character names, the American price is about $20 depending on size but I don't know about UK but it can be shipped there and I think this is a really cute t-shirt for a oncer.

For a fan of wonderland:
Down The Rabbit Hole Journal

This is an adorable notebook which any oncer obsessed with wonderland would fall in love with- personally I like never land and storybook the best but this notepad is just £8 so extremely affordable for a gift and is available on cafepress.

For those who love Rumplestiltskin (apologies for spelling)
Rumpelstiltskin
This lush hoodie reads All Magic Comes With A Price Deary and retails for about $47- again no idea in pounds. I think this is lovely for people whose favourite character is Rumple as his famous slogan is scribbled on it. I found it here.

For Swan-Queen shippers:
#SwanQueen Coffee Mug

This simple mug is from zazzle and is also great for someone who is quite new to the show or doesn't like heavily decorated merch as it is really simple but also cute and OUAT oriented. It costs about $17.

Those who are extreme fans:
Once upon a time Storybook, Henry's Book, OUAT, Notebook, Magic, Fantasy, Fairy tale, Storybrook, Evil Queen, Rumpelstiltskin, The Dark One
This is a notebook version of the story book however the book is available but for ridiculous prices I found this on etsy for just under a fiver so very well priced in my opinion!

Those who are still in love with Peter Pan:

This is from etsy again and is a necklace of peter pan's flute and I think the star is a really nice touch as they guide the way to never land and I really like silver jewellery as I think it looks really nice and this costs £8.70.

And, of course, Captain Swan shippers:
Captain Swan Silhouette Keychains -Resin

These small silhouette key rings are adorable and so simple, they are also from etsy and cost just £2.50 which is a great price- although beware of shipping fees too.

I hope this was full with new ideas that you haven't seen before and gives you help on buying gifts for the oncer in your life!

Revision Tips: Languages!

Hey guys,

As I am in year eleven, I have recently been revising for all subjects and have come across some amazing websites and guides that could potentially help you lot! Therefore I have decided to make a revision tips series and the first one is of course languages as I take two so it has taken up a lot of my time.

  1. Focus on the right things. You have obviously done your controlled assessments in writing and speaking so you have to focus on reading and listening in your revision or you will be wasting your time!
  2. Revision workbooks. These are life savers for practising your reading and listening skills. I have the edexcel ones as that is my exam board. There are also revision guides if you want to see the different subjects that you should be revising.
  3. Learning the vocab! In the exam, it is often the amount of vocab that you know that is being tested. At the back of the revision guides previously mentioned, there is a list of vocab but if you ask your languages teacher, they probably have a copy of the list.
  4. Revise with someone! You need to get used to hearing the words as well as seeing them so if you do not want the workbook then it might help to hear someone else say the words so you get used to recognising them.
  5. Do not get confused between languages. I do this all the time! I take French and German and often I get confused so instead I do them both in different coloured cue cards and on separate days which helps me personally to remember which word is from which language.

I hope that this helped some of you!
Bonne chance!
