Hey guys,
This morning, I made a Dorset apple cake and I thought I would show you how!
Ingredients:
- 225g butter (I use stork-perfect for cakes!)
- 450g apples
- little bit of lemon juice
- 225g caster sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 225g self-raising flour
- 2tsp baking powder
- 1tbsp Demerara sugar
- preheat the oven to 180'C
- grease a baking tin- you can do a few small ones or a massive one!
- peel and cut the apples to about a cm3- leave the core out!
- you can put a dab of lemon juice to stop the apples from browning.
- cream the softened butter and caster sugar together.
- beat in the eggs, self-raising flour and baking powder a little at a time.
- drain the apple pieces and add them to the mixture.
- spoon the mixture into the lined cake tin.
- sprinkle the top with the sugar.
- bake in the oven until golden brown- about an hour.
- leave it to cool for 20 minutes and ta-da!
