Hey guys,
It is back to school season and I remember the time I was a but anxious of going back was when I was starting secondary school. It is a big change from primary to secondary as the school gets bigger, there are more people in your classes and you study new subjects. Not mentioning the homework.
I was the first born so I didn't have an older sibling to look out for me. The first thing I was worried about was getting lost. You will get lost, it happens to everyone but you don't have to worry. Your teachers will understand and people are around to get you to class if you need them. You also start learning your way around the school day by day and most schools hand out a map. I would highlight the places where you have classes to make sure you know where they are.
Next, I was worried about people. I was separated from my friends from primary school which had never happened before. I am now so grateful and have met some great friends from being separated. Everyone in that class is in the same boat as you. They don't know you and you don't know them. If you talk to them, you make them feel more comfortable and have a new friend so you can be less worried to!
Homework is one of the biggest changes from primary to secondary and most people say do it the night you get it which I agree with but if you are too tired or are too fed up, do it later. If you aren't ready, it won't be to a good standard. If you complete it when you are awake and happy, it will be better than tired and sad but obviously complete it before the deadline.
If you don't understand the homework, go to see your teacher. They will not be fed up, they will be happy you asked rather than just not doing it. You could also e-mail them if you know it or have a system to look it up on.
Please contact me if you want to ask anything about this subject, I am happy to help. Comment or if it's personal, use my e-mail.
